  Kauai Restaurants

Dining in Kauai is a Polynesian treat. There are dozens of restaurants serving every kind of food from every culture in the world. The island's specialty, of course, is Hawaiian fare, and it is usually enjoyed in beautiful island settings.

Beach House Restaurant
5022 Lawai Rd.
808-742-1424
Credit cards accepted: American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard, Visa
Price range: Expensive
Cuisine type: Asian, Continental
In the Poipu area, try the Beach House Restaurant. A Pacific-Rim-meets-Mediterranean restaurant, it is the creation of one of the state's most prominent chefs, Jean-Marie Josselin. The eye is constantly stimulated at the Beach House where the dishes are as beautiful as the view. House specials include the seafood chowder or the Macadamia-crusted mahi mahi.

Green Garden
Kaumualii Hwy. (Route 50)
808-335-5422
Credit cards accepted: American Express, MasterCard, Visa
Price range: Moderate
Cuisine type: Polynesian
Famous for their homemade lilikoi (passion fruit) pies and traditional Hawaiian dishes, the Green Garden serves quality food in large portions, with "aloha service." The restaurant has been owned and operated by the same family since 1948, and has become a local legend.

Postcards Cafe
Kuhio Highway (Route 56) in Hanalei
808-826-1191

Postcards Cafe serves wonderful natural cuisine that is flavorful, exciting, and exotic. They also serve vegetarian meals and seafood. While dining, guests can also enjoy many old photos and artifacts from Kauai's history that were originally housed in the now closed museum.

Winds of Beamreach
808-826-6143

Offering fresh island seafood, steaks, and lighter fare such as locally grown organic produce, homemade salad dressings, desserts, and soups, the Winds of Beamreach is a nice place to have quality Hawaiian food in a tropical setting.
