In Kaunolu visitors can wander through the fishing village, a local temple,

the Hawaiian Islands under one rule. Contact Destination Lanai for more
information.
Keomuku Village
Off Hwy 44

Located in the northeast, Keomuku Village's most prominent remnant is the
partially-restored Malamalama Church. In the 19th century the Village was
the site for a proposed sugar plantation that was never built due to the
destruction of a local temple by the plantation workers. Not far down from
the Village are ancient petroglyphs (indigenous people's rock art). Contact
the offices of Destination Lanai for more information.

out as unique. In the northwest, the Garden of the Gods provides a strong
counterpoint to the general greenness of the island with its barren, red-rock
terrain. It is located at the edge of Palawai Basin--the floor of the volcano
that formed Lanai a million years ago. Contact Destination Lanai for more
information.
